The first newsworthy story I have to share is my own.
What began in 2023 as a passion project has grown into one of the most comprehensive online resources dedicated to life, travel, and adventure on St. John. Saint John Island Guide was created from equal parts creativity, determination, and a simple desire for a place where visitors and residents could find current, useful, and reliable information about the island we all love.
Like many people who live on or visit St. John, I often found myself searching for information that was outdated, incomplete, or difficult to locate. After one too many frustrating searches, I decided to create the resource I wished existed. What started with designing a logo quickly turned into a much larger endeavor. One category became five, five became fifteen, and before I knew it there were 31 categories representing the many facets of island life.
I originally planned to stop at 30 categories, but then Stories of Love City came to mind. It felt only right to create a space where visitors and residents could share the memories, milestones, and meaningful moments that connect them to St. John. After all, this island has a remarkable way of becoming part of people’s lives long after their tan has faded.
Since its launch, Saint John Island Guide has continued to evolve. While our mission remains focused on providing current and helpful information, we’ve expanded our services to help visitors experience the very best of the Virgin Islands. Through our trusted partner, Saint John Boat Charters, guests can conveniently book boat charters, sailing excursions, watersports activities, snorkeling adventures, island tours, and unforgettable experiences throughout the U.S. and British Virgin Islands. Our goal is not only to help visitors learn about St. John but also to help them create memories that will keep them coming back for years to come.
Saint John Island Guide is not intended to reinvent the wheel. Instead, it serves as a gateway to the incredible people, businesses, organizations, and local experts who make St. John such a special place. Whether you’re researching the island’s history, looking for the perfect beach, searching for local events, or planning a day on the water, we strive to connect you with the best resources available.
Like the island itself, this website is always evolving. New information, businesses, events, and experiences are continually being added. You may still encounter a “More Information Coming Soon” banner from time to time. Consider it a reminder that St. John never stands still, and neither do we.
If you discover an error, please send an email to saintjohnislandguide@gmail.com, and we’ll do our best to correct it promptly. Suggestions, additions, and constructive feedback are always welcome. This platform was created to celebrate St. John, support local businesses, and provide helpful information for everyone who calls this island home or dreams of visiting.
Negative attacks, unnecessary drama, and personal criticism have no place here. There are plenty of corners of the internet for that. Saint John Island Guide exists to lift St. John up, support our community, and contribute something positive to the people and businesses that make this island extraordinary.
Local businesses, residents, and visitors are encouraged to reach out regarding advertising opportunities, events, news stories, partnerships, or suggestions. We continue to seek meaningful collaborations that help strengthen the island community and enhance the visitor experience.
Giving back remains an important part of our mission. We proudly support local charities, nonprofit organizations, and community initiatives that make a lasting impact on St. John. We welcome opportunities to partner with organizations that share a commitment to preserving and improving our island community.
Thank you for your support, encouragement, and belief in this vision. Whether you’re a first-time visitor, a longtime resident, or someone who simply holds St. John close to your heart, I appreciate the opportunity to be part of your island journey.
Be Kind,
Jackie Colvin
