Wherever you are on St. John, you are sure to be surrounded by the beautiful plantlife of the Caribbean.   We suggest you get a copy and take this self-guided tour from the book, LEARNING ABOUT TREES AND PLANTS created by Gail Karlsson, Kevel Lindsay, Suki Dickson Buchalter, and Eleanor Gibney.  This was a project of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands.  The devastating hurricanes of 2017 definitely changed the landscape of St. John, although most plantlife survived only to come back stronger and more vibrant.

This book is self-guided and brings all of the locations it discusses to life!  For instance, Franklin J. Powell park in Cruz Bay, the book describes all of the plantlife in and around the park so you get a first hand feel for all of the nature around you with pictures and descriptions.  Quite a beautiful interactive way to experience St. John’s plantlife in more detail.
