NATIVE PLANTS WALK WITH CLARE WEAVER
SJLC’s 2nd Annual Seminar Series: Hosted by Clare Weaver of the Virgin Islands Rare Plant Initiative, this native plant walk at Haulover SJLC preserved land offers a unique opportunity to explore our island’s flora.
Limited to 25 guests, sign-up is required: http://weblink.donorperfect.com/March23RarePlantWalk
In Clare’s own words: “Join me to walk and explore the Haulover Bay area and identify some of our native species. We will look at shoreline species on both Haulover North and South, explore roadside natives of the coastal dry forest habitat, and take a look at the new parcel recently acquired by the St John Land Conservancy that overlooks Haulover Bay. Wear comfortable walking shoes; other optional items include hat, reef safe sunscreen, long pants and sleeves (which can help protect your skin when taking a closer look at native species!).”
About guide Clare Weaver: A field botanist with the Virgin Islands Rare Plant Initiative, Clare locates, monitors, and researches rare and endangered species of the Virgin Islands, focusing on the three most vulnerable species. She shares her passion for native flora during explorations of St John’s pristine habitats.
