Calbritte Horn Point is a .35 mile extension trail from the Tektite Trail (.7 mile) and promises the most spectacular views from the South Shore of St. John!  You just shake your head in amazement at the breathtaking “almost” 360 degree view from Calbritte Horn Point.  Not too many trails besides Ram Head Trail do you get to experience cliffs, and this is one of them.  The Point is home to lots of native plants/cactus.  The trail is harrowing in some spots as the trail is close to the edge of the cliffs so please be careful.

This is another trail which gets forgotten to the more popular trails.  Not to mention, the drive to get to this remote trail is not for the faint of heart as we recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle to traverse the unpaved south shore roads.  But let’s just say if you are adventurous enough to take this overall 1 mile hike, it’s more than worth it!

PRECAUTION:  Please hike with someone in these remote areas as usually you will not see anyone else.

There is a little bit of parking “space” near the trail entrance, only for 1 or 2 vehicles.

Q Are there any amenities at the Calbritte Horn Trail?

None. Bring whatever you need and we suggest a 4-wheel drive vehicle when navigating the south shore roads. You will park at the entrance of the Tektite Trail.
